Is any kind of fake grass suitable? Are they clever enough to not try and eat it?
Trying to figure out a new substrate/setup myself. I considered patio slabs around the pond over some kind of drainage system, but I'm not sure it would be great for their feet. Plus it's expensive
Wondering the same.

I use it around my ponds
I just grabbed more fur outside the duvk house where I keep water abc feed as well as the second pond
Mine have never tried to eat it
It’s easy to clean
Spray off or if dried I use my shop vac to clean it
I have one just for the duck stuff
I have since moved all the bigger rocks and put down more fake grass since the picture
I did it with this pond and not my second one
They killed the grass and drilled holes by the second one
So I will be fixing it with fake grass as soon as things melt and dry up

Daisy and her sister Mia

This was when I first put the new bigger pond down
The grass was nice abc green
Now it’s a big mud hole
Spilling water leads to digging ducks 😂
Anywhere there is water buckets or swimming I try to fix it so they can’t make mud holes
I also have set my kid pools on the fake grass in the smaller run
Works perfect
Not hard on their feet either

Mia was so beautiful, they both looked so sweet together
Back when daisy had a orange beak
Now it’s almost black
Once she started to lay eggs she got spots and now it’s almost covered
Your mom would be really frantic over Daisys mouldy beak 😂

She looks gorgeous with a dark beak!

I love my girls freckles. I was camping in a tent with them when I spotted them for the first time. Ah what an adventure that was. I remember early morning (crack of dawn) they woke me up. Then Sprightly laid an egg on my pillow.
They found the whole thing very exciting. I did not enjoy the experience. Its a long story. Sigh.

But yeah, my mum isn't a fan of the bill freckles lol
