Its almost done

Today I’m going to clean out the duck brooder, I think I’m going to just start putting their Waterer on a towel on top of the shavings, because the stuff that ends up in the baking tray is :sick. They keep bringing their food into the tray, and it mixes with the water and creates maggots 🤢. That’s why I moved it to the other end of the brooder, but it still keeps happening. I ordered a new feeder and Waterer today (coming today) because theirs are getting kind of small. I think I’m also going to let them have their first “real swim” today in the bathtub. Also I’m going to give them some cut up grapes today for the first time with chick grit. Do grapes make their poop gross? Asking so I know whether to do bath before or after. I’ll take pics.
Brooder today while I was refilling the feeders. There is a towel in there

Fly traps! Set some fly traps around the room. You may have to clean more than usual now that weather is warming up, too. Warm weather- dirty duck mess = flies. Flies = maggots :sick

I wouldn't say so, it's more protein rich treats that cause stinky gross poop

Well, if there's only maggots in the bowl, you can feed it to the chickens?

The ducks will always carry food and water to the other feeder. It's how they eat, and how they manage to make the biggest mess(outside of just playing in water). I tend to give them bath time while cleaning out their brooder.

I have never fed my ducks grapes. I have fed them spinach. They think it's crack. It doesn't produce terrible poop, it does produce green poop. Lol
