So i have been letting the ducks out under the chicken coop, where it is sand. I put chicken wire there so the chickens couldnt get in. I have let the ducks and chickens meet once, but removed them quickly before anything could happen. Now i just got back from walking my dogs. And somehow the chickens got in with the ducks, ate all their food, and made a mess of sand in the duck coop. Can i ask when i can feed them peas or other treats? They are 6 weeks old.

At 6 weeks, you're fine. If they have access to sand, they even have grit. They have very tiny "stomachs", though.

I tend to not feed them treats with a lot of carbs/sugars (think corn, or fruits) until they're a few months old, because their chick food has plenty of that kind of thing it in. But I spread the love with greens and hard boiled eggs.

No, I used caught very literally. They stole her, or at least that's what I believe, since the paint tray was nowhere to be found, and their car left shortly after. She probably ended up being dinner. It could have been a fox attack but we haven't had one in three years, nor did I find any feathers. Most of my birds are relatively friendly as well. They're not super friendly, but definitely tolerate me. Obviously he treats his hens much different because she was wild (and bald). Mine become flat like a pancake and growl when I get close to the nest

Wow. I can't imagine some one catching some one else's chicken.

Probably my sheltered upbringing.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

I'm telling this story to my hens tonight, so they understand how good they have it.

Ok thanks! I have been adding grit into a dish for them as they are in the sand.

So i fed them peas. And wow i havent see them eat something so fast especially when i put a few in the water!
