I have read where it works before but when the ducklings take to water the poor Momma Chicken sort of loses interest in them. I think she thinks they have gone off the deep end. Also she could not waterproof them like a Momma Duck can so deep water would be bad unless they were totally supervised.Someone in the forum is bound to have tried it, but I only know "a chick called Albert" for sure has
Oh that's neat. I know Runner females can have green bills. My Rouen, Mallards and Khaki Campbell were all drakes when they got green bills. The females stayed more orange with black spots.Well im pretty sure its a female. But its just green spots.
Well try filling the pool up with Dougie around, she grabs massive mouthfuls of dirt and bedding and drops them in for NO reasonYea i know. Just like how i fill up the pool. I think 5 seconds later its dirty.
I have come to the conclusion that they want those pools to look more like a pond. Ponds are not crystal clear and they want to feel they are on an open pond so they make them look like one. That is my reasoning for them to do this, LOL.Well try filling the pool up with Dougie around, she grabs massive mouthfuls of dirt and bedding and drops them in for NO reason![]()
