Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

Whats the chance that i could buy 2 or 3 females and keep one of the drakes and it work out? I just dont wanna seperate them as they have stuck together since day 1 following each other and they get mad if i take one at a time.
Are they your only 2 ducks ?
They say you need 6-7 girls per boy but that’s not always true
Captain has 6 girls and he can’t keep up
Peep only mates 2 of the 10 girls o have
And germ mates 3 of the 10
You could get 4 -5 girls and keep both boys
The issue happens when you have 4-5 boys from the sake hatch then they tend to team up on one in the pool and can drown her
My 3 boys are all from different batches and none of them tag team
2 brothers will be bonded and should be able to share 4 girls no problem

They are my only 2. The only issue is i cant have more than 4. And i wont be able to do anything until after July 23rd as we leave for a camping trip and somebody will be coming to water/feed them every 2 to 3 days. I cant have duckling right then. Thank you again

Thanks. I really like them both they are finnally at that point i can hold them and they say hi to me every morning. And definitely tell me when they want something. I do have a friend that could probably take them. But i feel they are bonded.
You are most welcome and if you are not looking for eggs I would keep them. You have a beautiful place for them and even if you tried to get three Hens, Unless you get them full grown or from a hatchery sexed ( and sometimes that even turns out wrong), You could still end up with drakes. I have 11 hens right now but my one Drake only likes one and picks on her constantly so he is separated from the flock right now. Even having lots of hens can still be a problem if they chose one to be attached to. Good Luck and they are beautiful drakes.

Those two boys would be just fine
They won’t have hormone issues till next spring
At that time you could decide if you can add girls

We are locking for eggs. I was hoping to find some females for sale but no luck yet.

Well I was offered a male saddleback for Stella
I wasn’t going to be getting her Nate till next spring but he has fallen on my lap
We will see how today goes
So far he is pretty chill just a bit loud but it’s a new environment for him
This is Gary the goose
