My birds will thank me this winter
Pumpkins are growing nice
To bad they are wild and take over the yard
No idea where my watermelons are going to grow as the pumpkins are attaching themselves to them , my deck and my tree
My first time ever doing them so it’s a learning curve
Next year the watermelons will be across the yard 😂
There is well over 25 and new ones coming up daily
When we grow pumpkins nothing else can be planted within 50 ft of it. They get so big. I tried watermelon this year maybe we will get one or 2 but they arent growing well.

Since i was camping for a week my neighbor was coming over to watch the ducks and chickens. It was funny to watch the ducks whenever someone new goes near them🤣. They try to scare them out or run away from them. But for me they run over and let me pick them up.

My sister got some ducklings 2 months ago. And out of 8 i think 4 turned out male for sure and 2 they are unsure of. But 2 are for sure female. Maybe ill just take the female's🤣

Your Sister's luck sounds like mine. I let those 4 eggs hatch out under Momma Mallard and all 4 were drakes and had to go down the road. I hope she has more females than just the two.

Smaller is better
I had to re home my silver / blue Swedish. He was way to big for some of my girls
I was worried he would break their wings
That is what happened with my big Muscovy Drake. He did not break the actual wings but all of their feathers off at their tail ends climbing on their backs. They were not raw, just featherless as the feathers were only broken off at the blood line. I rehomed him and my other big drakes for the 4 Call drakes but they were too much and so was the Black Swedish, father and son so now all I have is 2 of the smallest Call drakes and 11 Hens. Much more peace and no one is in drake jail.

They have a whole flock of females right now with 2 males. But they have to get rid of some of the drakes from the ducklings flock.
Sounds like my luck to hopefully my next 2 will be females

I hope that they will be too. Drakes are so hard to rehome and they always end up being so pretty and sweet to us humans but to those Hens, well let's just say That's Another Story!!!" lol

They are so hard to rehome. I dont know how im going to find a good home for mine. Im hoping though that a friend can take them so i can atleast keep in touch with how they are doing.
They definitely dont treat the hens the same🤣

It can be very hard and pull at the heart strings to let drakes go
But sometimes we have no choice

I’m thinking the same thing
My pumpkins need lots of sun
My watermelons where they pumpkins are shadowing them they are growing 4 times the size of the ones that get direct sun
So next year I’ll find a partially shaded area for them and try again

That sounds like a good idea. My watermelons are in a partially shaded area. But i didnt do pumpkins this year. But i should have.
