Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

Look at the schit I have to deal with, LITERALLY!!! Swear they play target practice in the night placing bets. Seems as if they bend over, aim and shoot, how else they get that high. 🤣
I got to keep a spray bottle of glass cleaner just for this schit.
Notice the perfect screw pattern in the metal siding, I’m good like that 🤪

I don't know if they wife would let me travel till I get our house built. Then again she might since I have been steady building 2 years straight, I need a break. I built this pole barndominium for us.
You can see more of the structure on my YouTube channel.

Alright to contribute to this thread, this should work. Makes owning these birds and the abuse we put up with all so much better.

Huh... I've been thinking about getting some cayuga ducks... Because they're pretty.
... However, I was unaware that ducks come in non-bipolar, and now I REALLY want to get some cayugas.

One of my kakhi campbells seems to be going broody. She's been sitting progressively later in the day in one of the nesting boxes. We'll see how that goes. Given that my ducks only think I'm not murdering them when I'm giving them treat... This might be interesting.

Ended up killing a bull snake today. Pretty sure it's the same snake from a while ago. It just slithered right into the chicken run tonight, so it's now sleeping with the fishes... Er... Flies...

My ducks where getting some night time treats when the snake made an appearance. I think I scared the ducks by axing the snake. Maybe they thought they're next? Idk.
Glad the snake didnt hurt any chickens or ducks!

Yes, something that size. That should do me just fine. :lau

Your wife can come along and hang out. ;) Ontario in the Autumn is beautiful! ;) Although your place looks absolutely wonderful too. I want to do something like that.

Oh trust me if I go anywhere she is coming along or I won't hear the end of it. Took about 12 grain bins to build the pole barn and part of one for the Waddle Inn in total we took down 17 grain bins and the wife helped for the 2 week duration. Me and her with basic battery impact driver and wrenches with some home made jacks, in the the middle of 38°C plus temperatures with winds gusting to 35 knots.

17 grain bins? I've seen silos, but I don't know what a grain bin is...?

On the other hand... How rough is your road that you need that beast? 🤣😂

Congrats on what you guys have accomplished so far! All the stuff you have shown us looks awrsome!

Thanks,
Grain bins are metal corrugated sheets bolted together in a circle, silos are concrete blocks banded together. Here is a few of the ones we took down.

Why does one need that rig, this should do some explaining. First video is a drive around the neighborhood, down the ridge and back up the ridge which is about 35% plus grade and that's just the first 3 miles to town, there is 47 more miles of that to get to town and you need supplies. Second video is of the county grader/plow that is "SUPPOSED" to clear the roads so everyone can get in and out to town, I ain't depending on them as with any other official. Third video is what I find in the ditch a lot of the time, there isn't any cell phone service, I just patrol the roads sometimes when I see it's going to be a good snow dumping. With great power comes great responsibility, Enjoy!

I reckon my girls have been getting into trouble. Maybe sneaking out of the coup to go to parties or something...
There's a police helicopter in the sky, been going in circles above our house for 40 minutes.
At first the girls were oblivious but when they saw it go over, they both stared up at it, studying it worriedly. I told them they were clearly looking for someone, guilt flashed accross their faces and they ran in for bed.
They wont come back out.
Clearly they're hiding.
They wont tell me what they did to warrant such a large scale search.... but I told them I'd cover for them.

Alas, Dougie and Sprightly have moved to Canada and their new names are Daphne and Sophie.
