Supposed Auracana rooster

About your ridiculous looking silkie, he does have some Auracana in him. I can see it in facial feathers and in the leg feathers,

As an Auracana, there is about 5% in his facial feathers,
there is about 50% in those leg feathers.

As golden seabright, there is 0% showing.

As a silkie, theres nothing visible. It's ridiculous.

As a dinner cooked by the chef at my local Chinese restaurant, he's a revelation.

For Auracana, blue, but as I said, and you can assess it for yourself, silkie is yellow or above. Shrug. can't be helped. Must cook and must cook him quick. And delicious.

Thank you to everyone, even the Silkie hater. I value everyone's opinion and now have more to scratch my head over. He has the slight cheek puffs but not the humongous handlebar moustache style tufts. Also not rumpled rear. Big beautiful comb and a delightful friendly personality. Either way he's part of the family. It's just everyone knows how we chicken people love to brag up our flock and what we currently have in our yard, I guess I'm no different again though thanks community for your ideas.

I see absolutely no araucana in him. I don't see tufts, Araucana don't have feathered legs... There is nothing about this chicken that says araucana to me.

Hey Cryss. Yeah I think so too actually. I noted the smileys and LOL. As I get older I've become so much easier going and harder to ruffle. In today's world people seem to forget the old ways of turn the other cheek, or walk a mile in his shoes, etc. Sometimes it's hard in today's world also to see the good or acceptance in others when we don't see it being readily handed out on the news and social media and other places people come together. And hell, at the end of the day if things get ruff I go bury my face in one of my Silkies luxurious fur and forgedt everything else for a minute! I know I'm not the only one that believes their chickens are therapeutic. Take care.

My closest guess based on everyone's advice , on what breeds live where I got the eggs from, and what I see in his traits I believe , yes he does have a small portion of auracana, the picture didn't show his cheeks well enough, he likely has a helping,(no, no cooking words, dammit) a smidgen of RIR, based on his brilliant red shiny copper penny color, and he may very well have some silky because his skin color is slightly blue tinged. At the end of the day, my boy, Simba, is probably a melting pot,(no) sorry a smorgasbord (yikes, food again) okay he's a huge mixture of different things which came together to make one of the sweetest rooster I've had in 8 years. (Silky?) He's family regardless and maybe time will shed more light on his humble beginnings. He is only 5 or 6 months.

See, the cheeks are why I don't think its araucana. I think more likely to be ameraucana.
This is my old araucana roo and his tufts. They look like pig tails.

This is an ameraucana hen, and look at her muffs and beard! Similar, but different.
