Sure hope a kombucha scoby doesn't kill 'em!

I am going to try it. I am very intrigued. I put together a list of all the new things I have done for myself (and my family) since March. This will be just one more thing.

My Japanese friend said that kombucha in the US doesn't taste like what she gets from Japan. We're comparing receipes to see if it's the type of tea or sugar or what.

joe, are your chicks still alive after eating the scoby?
I wonder if eating scoby will affect the taste of the eggs. I know you aren't supposed to feed hens garlic or onions because they make the eggs taste nasty...
 
Kombucha- I just use those glass "sun tea" jars with a little spigot at the bottom, so I can drain the jar down as I use it.

I keep several jars, so that when one jar has fermented at room temperature I can refrigerate it and use the mother (or child...) in a second jar. I've never read before that the top had to be as wide as the depth and these jars are definitely more narrow than the depth, but no problem...
