Roy is not feeling well again. Tonight he had trouble getting up into the coop to be with his girls.
I examined him, there is no sign of mites, they have been wormed, the wound that the maggots made is healing well.
I just don't get it.
I am putting vitamins in his water, giving him rooster booster B-12 and vit K verity.
I am just lost, he is 5 years old, could it be that he is just getting old.
I do not have a vet near me that will see a chicken, so I am on my own.
He still wants to be with his girls, he just seems to be a bit slower and out of it some.
any thoughts?? I just don't know what to do anymore for him.
He was given his second worming right before I discovered the maggots. I did not worm because of the maggots but becauseHave you dewormed him since or because of the maggots?
If he's a big boy, which I think he is, that amount *might treat roundworms, probably won't treat cecal worms, band it will definitely not not treat capillary worms or gape worms. How much do you think he weighs?I follow the recommendation of other posters here on byc. I worm using 3/4cc for each bird directly in their mouths and repeat 10 days later. Following proper egg withdrawal.
