Dixie smiled briefly at his touch before bursting into boughs of sobs as he fell silent. Saffron finished mingling and ushered her out of the den with a soft but strict, "Shoo! Go, on, scoot!" That done and Dixie gone, she busied herself with Mystery. She remembered one of her observations at the fight scene, that Mystery didn't have nearly the strength he should. She plucked a few Lambs' Ears and placed them beside his nose before rapping him gently on the top of the head.
"Viridian, I need you to eat these plants. You hear me?" she said sternly, hoping he'd wake up.
(EEK, NOOOO! D': Well, be back soon!)
Mystery's breathing was soft, his mouth opening slightly. He was spinning, spiraling through murky blackness, but he had heard Saffron's voice, like an echo from the distance. And he tried, his maw opening slowly, painfully. His teeth closed on a leaf, and he chewed a bit, but even that effort was exhausting. He felt like his very essence was draining away, through the wound on his neck. And with his eyes closed, the only thing he could see was Teal's blue eyes, gleaming in the distance with devilish glee in their depths.
