Surviving Minnesota!

Hi everyone
Bogtown our power is still out, went out about 130am.
No electricity no fans so the coop is hotter than

Put Cocoa in the basement with the chicks she isn't happy, no light, small windows...

Went out and changed water when I got home. Gonna keep an eye on things. It is extremely hot when the sun is behind a cloud. It is unbearable when it is not. Icky.

Normally I post a video or pictures here and have the turkey people come here to see it if I think it is interesting.

I am asking you guy to go to that thread this time..

This is the weirdest Tom behavior in the world, I know you guys think I make up some of the crap they do. I finally got it on video..

Makes no sense to me been going on for almost 2 weeks now.

Thanks for looking and commenting here or there, It is just too hard to post it twice, The youtube thing and me fight a lot..

Ralphie Sorry about the White sports as well. I needed to mention that. Poor little things. Will look at Turkey video when I'm home.

At Lunch time I went home and got the hose running the coldest of the well water and refreshed the founts. Will do again tonight before roost and clean out shavings as I have the coop closed up a bit to keep out heat. The ammonia is starting to creep up with the heat though. They aren't that dirty in there ...but dirty enough. I also threw the birds some frozen blueberries...right out of a bag...the fruit was sort of freezer burnt...but as the blueberries started thawing (didn't take long) the birds started nabbing them up. Dixie, littles and all. My fingers and fingernails are blue. LOL. Filled up empty gatorade bottles with water and put them in the freezer. Those will be my Fount Ice Blocks for tomorrow.

Tomorrow I am working a 1/2 day in the morning. Then you will find me in the boat travelling to a quiet bay with my floatie and favorite beverages and family on board. Toodle-loo chickeneers. Sing a vibrato song in front of your box fan tonight. LOL.

Well Ralphie the turkey gets an A for persistence. Sorry about the sports, but it may be a way the weak are culled?
We did have quite the storms here early this AM. Only about 6 tenths of an inch in my rain guage, but the thunder lightning and wind were fierce. Many trees down. I was one of the lucky who did not lose power, but about 60,000 were without it.
My coop and runs are shaded by tall Pine trees so the birds usually have no problems. It is a high canopy so the sunlight hits the area in winter.

Layers sorry to read of your difficulty with the retainer, but you must keep a firm seat in the saddle and be sure to clear the hurdles. The fall in both those situations is usually less painful than the embarrassment associated?

Well Ralphie at least I don't recall that we were referred to as "Grumpy Old Men"? As I approach 100 I find that am less flexible in many ways, especially physically.

The power is on!! Sure did miss being able to flush. We take So much for granted now days. We have an outhouse but it isn't fun if you need to use it
