Ralphie: For comb saving you may have to insulate and heat a coop special for those birdies. Bag balm helps. But sometimes it's like putting peanut butter on a sore I feel and hard to keep up with....?
I am planning on keeping them in my Pole Barn/ shed / brooder area. It will not be heated but will have heat lamps on the chicks the roof is over 20 feet at the peak, I hope between the heat lamps and the high ceilings the moisture goes up and out.
Then again, my Mom leave for Florida around the 20th of October, so maybe I could just move the roosters into her house.
MNchickmom I have roosters!! Just give me a few days to catch them. They are pretty "wild". I just caught the SS hen I plan to show, and she bit me, but she will calm down in a couple days I am sure.
