Surviving Minnesota!

I can help you look tomorrow.

It could be a feat to do, that lone Maran is now mixed in with about 100 other chicks.

If I was not so lazy I would go upstairs and check the SOP on leg color, or walk out to the barn and look at the adults legs...Instead I will sit here and nurse a "Mike's " and think about the leg colors....

I mean no disrespect to anyone with this post !!

As someone who has multiple degrees from a prestigious University, I have come to the conclusion that multiple degrees are not indicative of superior intelligence. Many that I met while in said University that also attained multiple degrees have led me to that conclusion. It is good that people have the ambition and self discipline to do the study and pass the requirements for the degrees, and I assume in most cases it is of benefit financially.

Not a single one of my classmates has also gone on to be also accepted into the "Mensa Society".

EJB, I can also name you, and not pointing fingers at anyone here, some people *coff coff brother coff coff" that has the degrees and I thought he joined Mensa 30 years ago, that has the common sense of a horse fly...No offense to horse flies meant.

@Cluckies I am using a game bird breeder for all my birds right now. It is the stuff I get at Marties. FAMO brand and not theirs. It is expensive $14 a bag, but it is 22% protein I think, higher than the chicken feed I know.

It is a pellet and not crumbles or mash. With those feeders I made I get almost Zero waste from the chickens. The turkeys waste it but not the chickens. I think it is costing me less even with the extra I pay for it. The bags seem to last a long time.

Even with that rain/snow stuff we got the other day I only had to drop a cup or so on the ground to get past the compacted mushy stuff. They ate it off the ground. My Prima Dona's never do that, they refuse to eat off the ground.

I am thinking of drilling a couple small holes in the bottom of the feeder to see if the rain would run through it. I doubt it will work..
Just make sure you check it so it isn't moldy in there.... I know you know that, and i'm Captain Obvious.

Ralphie are you using the barred rock method to sex your Doms and Cuckoo Marans ? Head spot difference . Seems you have 3 sexable breeds already . Any striped chicks are doable with practice also .

My sister and I are enjoying some Dirty Shirleys while the little ones watch A Little Mermaid and the olders watch tv in the other room next door.

I feel like I will now know where Ralphie is during is errands as I found Runnings in Monticello! Totally on accident as I was just going to CUB foods to get snacks for the kids and low and behold there was Runnings! I wanted to go in but the kids wanted snacks! Fun weekend means snacks for kids.
