Ralphie, I had a good laugh at your response to my post. I do not think you should make such references to members of your own family however ?
Nice photos Layers.
Ralphie, it seems that you are getting much help in the Marans vs Dominique identification question. Hope it results in mystery being solved.
Morning peeps. Glad I could inspire you Ralphie!
Layers, nice pics, thanks for sharing.
Ok, so remember I was saying how great my girls looked? Well about a week ago, I come home from work, go let them out, and 3 of them look like their lower backs got into a shredder, terrible, the feathers are all wavy, broken off, crazyness. I have no rooster. Still trying to figure that one out. The only thing I can think is that when they dust bath, Fi "helps" them by picking at them, I've seen her do it and be really rough. But not to this extent. So not sure if that is it. I raised their door up in case they were scraping it. But it all happened in 1 day... Have any of you had this?
I have not had that Cluckies. Lower back is a fave spot of feather pickers though isn't it...?
Ralphie I am excited for your class. If we bring our class payment do we get sexed pullet as a 'take home' part of the project?
,Coop run this morning in pjs And t- shirt. Gorgeous morning.
I have a cold this weekend. So done with influenza for 3 weeks and right into a cold. Stupid. Immune system is crappy this year.
Hey Ralphie how are your kitties doing?
Good Morning Chickeners . . . .
Love the pictures Layers. Thanks for sharing.
So the kitties are settled in and responding to you Ralphie. Thats good. They are doing their job as barn kitties and that is what is important.
A bit windy but very nice warm wind. I have carried 6 - 5 gallon buckets of 'stuff' out of the uncovered run. Preparing for Spring by cleaning out the covered run refuge five gallons at a time.
Poor Regina. The lone little CLB (along with Reggie). As I have been working in their coop I notice how much she is picked on. No wonder she does not lay often. She is too stressed trying to avoid the bullies. They do seem to go after her and where one stops another will pick up. What is that all about? I have begun talking to her and being the caretaker that I am - favoring her more than the others. The Two CW are small like Regina and I have been considering separating the three out to their own coop so she can have peace. Reggie used to not let anyone pick on her. It seems even he has deserted her. I am observing for now.
Have a nice day everyone. I am moving on for now. Got to get er done.
