Very nice Jerry. I like those little blue flowers. Gorgeous!

Here are my first day of spring photos. 5 for 5 laying hens. And junior finally crossed the snow divide and came up to the house. Lol. Spring is here!

First day of Spring = another day at work. We moved back home (my home!) from MN and purchased land from my dad. 15 years of pretty much non existent fence maintenance (sorry Pops!) combined with record snowfall and blizzards this year..... makes for lots of fencing "dates" with the DH..... "awwwww"

I don't mind fixing but putting up sucks. We put up so much this fall for cross fencing! Thankfully my uncle lent us his hydraulic post pounder

Ralphie if you're interested in some BCMs and good quality there's someone selling some full grown for $125 plus shipping

I have a bunch of birds to get rid of on Saturday. I am finding most people do not care about quality in there birds only price. I cannot hatch enough EE, but I am only charging a buck a piece if you buy 50, $1.50 smaller quantities. I offer my Doms at 5 bucks each and no one seems to want them but they pay 10 bucks a piece for them at Ramsey Feed, I doubt Ramsey feed has Duane Urch's line.

I was at Ramsey Feed this past weekend and their birds look to be having mite and eye issues. Not just pullets, older chicks as well. I try not to express any negativity about how other people keep birds - we all do it differently. And I do enjoy going there and the people who work there are very nice. But they have a large pen of pullets full of mites (not for sale) right next to numerous other pens of pullets that are for sale. If they haven't yet, it's only a matter of time before the mites carry on over. It also made me wonder how many people took mites home with them just from walking through there. They should really keep people out of that building and take care of the issue. You'll like this Ralphie, they also sell EE's for $7. They sell them as Ameraucana's, of course. No fault of their own as I'm sure the hatchery sells them as so. I need to start a Farm and Garden store $$$$ =)

I learned about the nut issue when I was just a toddler and my throat started swelling shut. Been to the ER several times and I always have an Epi-pen and lots of Benadryl in my purse just in case. When I got pregnant it was so weird though...my asthma went away during that 9 months. When it came back, so did all the new allergies too. Every day I keep mental log of stuff I've eaten and products used. Can't use Gain or Era, but can use Tide.... Too much chocolate doesn't agree with me either. Thank god my family and co-workers are all aware and make sure to warn me if anything at all with nuts or nut oil in it.

My asthma did the same thing with my pregnancies. It was great. After I had my first, I developed a sever tree nut allergy and shellfish. With this last one, I'm having problems eating fish. Freshwater fish. I get a mild reaction. I don't think I can give up fish....ugh.....

One of my favorites so far!

Pretty! Partridge?

So, remember back to my whining about only 6-8 eggs a day just a few weeks ago?? Yeah well culling roosters, daylight hours increasing, and letting them free range have now boosted it to 31 eggs today! Now I am doing the"So, who needs eggs?" Song! LOL Can't wait for this hatch!

EJB I will agree with you about the Germans breeding programs.. I've judged dogs in Germany several times. Across the board their breeding requirements are quite stringent. The powers that be will even do home visits to inspect puppies. Parent dogs have to pass a battery of test to be allowed to breed. This includes instinct testing. Stringent requirements for all livestock. Especially horses. Sweden & Switzerland are the same.

I am going to protest this! Ugly dogs have a right to have sex too! Dogs now, people next! This is a dangerous first step.
