Surviving Minnesota!

The lake is open in a couple spots and the Trumpeter Swans are here :weee

I moved the chicks to the basement today. They are happy with the new space and it was getting stinky in the extra bedroom :sick

A trick I learn years ago was to put a huge wad of Vicks under and in your nostrils. You can't smell anything bad then, for days, or until Judy gets home to clean it.

Got back with the new birds an hour or so ago. I love the Bielefelder rooster! And my dad is finally understanding full value of some of the birds

We are now up to 2 Toads, 1 EE , and 2 Doms. Of the Doms one appears to be male and one a female. So perfect odds so far there! Oh and boy is that little girl NOISY! She is certainly letting the world know she is here! 10 eggs left.

Holms I do believe it looks reddish with some dark stripes down the back. Still not fully dry so it is hard to tell for sure.

Awesome!

I really hope the EE turns out to be a female! It should be out of my pretty little EE and Buckeye rooster so should be really winter hardy!

Best of luck on the rest of the hatch!
