Got back with the new birds an hour or so ago. I love the Bielefelder rooster! And my dad is finally understanding full value of some of the birds

, espeically the Bresse

So do you all remember about a month ago how my incubator somehow spiked in temp and killed the eggs while they were hatching? Well we are almost positive it was sabotage. None of my family members but a kid whos parents are my parents best friends. He cant stand me for some reason. Well anyways. He was staying the night and started joking about killing all the eggs and stuff just to make me mad and I flipped on him for it. Now tonight I was talking to my brother and I was telling him how it would suck if it malfunctioned again cuz I have eggs in there now. And my brother said "Isaiah I dont think that was a malfunction? I think *evilchild* did that because he was joking about doing that stuff all night and asked of we should kill them". After he said that I put two and two together. Anotger thing that seems odd is that the temp has not spiked again since that night.

I know I cant do anything about it now but just kinda felt a little "ranty" about it... I am just sad about it still...

ETA this would not be the first time he has done something to make me mad!

Update before I go to bed...

6 chicks. 3 Doms now. Looks like 1 boy and 2 girls. We will see what morning brings.

I lied. 2 more Toads hatched just a minute after that picture within seconds of each other! Up to 4 Toads. but one of these last ones hatch with quite a bit of blood and is having trouble getting straightened out. Hopefully it rights itself with a bit of rest. It is staying pretty curled up.

Ok now I really am going to sleep as no others look like they are going to hatch soon. Had one more Dom hatch, I think male. Still at 50/50 for them.

Ralphie, it sounds as if the Pierz sale was pretty much a bust for you. I have never been there, but your post informs me that my choice not to go has been the correct one.

The forecast is for better weather this week and perhaps that will result in more projects being completed. The current fire permitting process has me ticked off. If you want something screwed up install as many layers of government as possible in it.

The running account of Mom of Many's incubation has been entertaining, and I now wait for the final chapter.

Morning . More rain predicted today . Rainy week ahead . Ralphie has a run of bad luck . First the computer and now the tractor tire . Grandma always said bad luck runs in 3 . So 1 more . Judy must be a Saint . My wife would be mad over these things . Of course around here everything is my fault . Even flat tires on her car . I am the only one who uses nails . Yet her flats are always on the passenger side . She hugs the curb . Which is where nails and such debris end up . No connection . In all fairness some things really are my fault . Then a person who never makes mistakes probably wasn't doing anything anyway .

New calf born last night. He was a big guy. Grandpa found him and said he could tell he was a bull from across the corral.

Good morning everyone!
Lots of crowing this morning from the chickens.
All together I've got 14 new birds. No pictures yet.

Edith does have a bloody spot on her foot and she is limping because of it. The lady also gave me some blue kote so I put that on her foot. The Bresse Rooster had the longest crow I have ever heard!!! He does the different pitches and then holds the last one forever I swear! The Swedish Flower Hen Hen is pretty beat up right now, hopefully she will grow all of her feathers back quickly. My younger sisters favorite is the Svart Hona x Isbar hen. My favorite is Archie he is such a big loveable boy. The Swedish Flower Hen, Svart Hona x Isbar and Icelandic Rooster are little schiesters, they keep trying to fight with Archie, the Svart Hona x Isbar Sonar and the Swedish Flower Hen Roosters were out put in extra cages for the day while I'm not there watching them.

I also got a 42 eggs Styrofoam Auto turning bator from her, my mom picked up a 50 egg antique hand turner for free in Fergus Falls and then I have my Brinses that fits 24 eggs so now I can set 116 eggs at a time!
My dad wants me to start setting Bresse eggs ASAP to try and sell some to some Foodies.
