Surviving Minnesota!

After rain last evening it is a foggy dreary start to the day.  Chickens will love to free range and may find some garden hackle to consume.

Holms I am beginning to think that a career route for you may be as the next Dr. Pol associate ?  The love of animals may indicate an aptitude for veterinary science ?

Ralphie, Fosston is out in the boonies.  Will you be visiting Gonvick as long as you are in the vicinity ?  A trip of some exotic poultry search I suspect.

I would LOVE to go to vet school for sure! But we will see. Animals both large and small are my passion right now and I am sure they always will be so why not get a job that involves them?

Good morning everyone.
The hens are laying well, i am gettong over 14 eggs a day with my 18 laying hens everyday so I am happy with that. Chicks are growing fast and this weekend I will be converting a rabbit hutch into a coop for them. I switched to 2 brooders this weekend, the second brooder still needs a no waste feeders so we have to get on making another and we also have to build the automatic waterer for them.
Chickens got a no waste feeder this weekend and it really opened up the coop now that there isn't a huge trough feeder in the middle.
I was going to seperate the 2 Bielefelders this morning but I will wait til Wednesday so my sibling snd dad don't have to move them tomorrow night. Hopefully I can set some eggs even 3 would be enough.
My dad wants to build a 100 chicken coop behind the machine shed this year. If we do this the current coop will probably be added on to make room for a few more breeding areas for my 5 breeding breeds.

First track meet is tomorrow and i am already stressed!

I want to do something like that but I don't want to get my hopes up. My grandpa is 77 this year and my uncle has a lot of problems with joints etc so who knows what I'll be doing by time I graduate. I would love to go to NDSU and take something there but like my dad said on Saturday night by time I graduate you never know what will happen maybe I will have to take some 2 year ag business at DSU, because there would be no way I could take care of 270 cows and go to college, lol

Going through old pictures of branding yesterday while coming home from Bismarck. I think 2012 and 2010 at my uncle amd grandpa's

Just pics from yesterday and maybe Saturday on the farm. As you can see all the calves are big and hefty this year. That old spot cows calf is a monster too. But it is so darn hard to tell in pics. Last two pics are of the calf we pulled.
