Egg that was pipped this morning hatched. Chick didn't make it. 2 more are pipped now.

So far we have 3 baby chicks 2 buff/reddish color and one that will be barred. Looks to be female according to head spot and dark legs. 14 left to go. 4 have pipped not sure on the other 10.

It was a BBS Cochin, whole hatch is from them. I can't be sure as I was gone for about 10 hours today so by time I got home it was dead for a while and I was tired so I had no ambition in actually looking lol

Morning peeps, for those of you that are lucky enough to stay home today, looks to be an awesome day with little wind. Yesterday was nice, but that wind kept me from doing anything too involved out of doors. Good days are always during the week it seems. Arghhhh. But, enjoy it if you can!

I am not sure my cuddling little Apletinni likes me, he crapped on me twice when we were watching TV. I think she was just scared poopless though by the show.

The hatch is up to 7 chicks now. 5 are buff/redish and 2 are black-1 barred and one looks solid right now. The solid one also has a cushion or rose comb. The only one so far that does not have a straight comb. 8 left to hatch. I really wish I could open it up and take the babies out so the rest of the eggs had more peace and quiet to hatch. I left the egg turning tray in this time around and it really has made it easier on the eggs as the others run around over top of them. Not so much rolling for them as the straight rows for holding the eggs in place for turning keep them from rolling from one end to the other. I can't wait to see how these feather out with the different birds that I have. Most of the eggs are from the ISA browns because I chose the bigger eggs to set, but not the jumbo eggs as I didn't want the greater chance of twins. I get double yokes often out of the big ones.

Morning.... Got my turkey the other night... Nice tom... Beard was just over 9 inches...

Also I have WAY too many turkey eggs... I am getting 3 a day... So if anyone wants some hmu... Can bring some to Brainerd this weekend...
