Well I had an interesting things happen today. I went and picked up one of my CX pullets today and within a minute of picking her up she started flapping and dead. She looked healthy and fine? What the heck?
Pstt... Holm... You don't hold them by the neck, you know.

Seriously though, I'm sorry about her. :hugs

You killed another??

That's the second this month you held and it died....Weird....
Are you holding them too tight?

Seriously though, that is a bummer.
I was thinking maybe I am cursed? Im taking it as a sign from God that it's time to stop putting off butcher day and get it done.

Heart attack from stress . Had it happen . On a plus side it takes those genes out of the flock . Then you are going to butcher .

When I did my vit B complex for my birds in the water fount they got it for a week or two.

Found the lavender cuckoo cockerel feather pile about 15 yards behind the coop in the woods when I went mushrooming. FIL might be fired from chicken sitting.

Kids first day of school. Glad for that routine again.

Congrats TFred! About cleaning: I wipe off any dirt or poo. But try to keep the egg bloom intact as much as possible. (A natural coating on the egg that is a barrier against bacteria) do some BYC searches. Once washed the eggs require refrigeration. If bloom is intact you can keep the eggs on your counter. Even though I keep bloom on as much as possible, I still store mine in the fridge. Old habits. And Counter space saver.
