Surviving Minnesota!

Well I had an interesting things happen today. I went and picked up one of my CX pullets today and within a minute of picking her up she started flapping and dead. She looked healthy and fine? What the heck?
heart attack from stress, literally scared to death

Also my sister grandpa and I took a walk to go see some cows and calves and I guess my sister took a pic of me

Good morning everyone!

Speaking of swaps...the next few weeks are the time to unload all those extra birds before winter. Sept. 9-10 is that HUGE swap down in Waverly IA. This is nothing like those little swaps up here. There was over 4000 paid adults in April (not counting endless kids that get in free) and pretty much anything you can get though the gate gets in to sell. You see more of the exotics like porcupine, kangaroo, skunks, etc. You will see 20+ breeds of dogs there, tons of poultry, large livestock, flea market type stuff, and small house type pets too. Sept. 16th is both the Jackson exotic auction and the MN Game Breeders Swap in Hutchinson. Tons more smaller swaps in IA and WI.... If you look at my webpage, I try and keep a list on a tab there.

I went through all those growouts this week and I have 35 silkies and a few polish to sell. Heading down to IA Saturday and staying overnight... Usually I don't come home with much so I don't have to worry about selling at the fall shows. Not sure about Hutch.... we have a huge tournament at work that weekend so not sure if I'll get time off. Maybe New Ulm again...

Back finally, I even made corn bread for breakfast once I got coffee in me.

@destiny_56085 The sale is Saturday and Sunday, from when to when? It is a 4 hour drive for me, but beings I got the Iowa import permit, I suppose I should use it.

I am thinking of bringing Turkeys, Doms, and a few white leg bars. Maybe my Yokis, but they are in molt and look like crap, Even the rooster that is not suppose to drop tail feathers is dropping tail feathers. If it keeps up I am going to have to have @holm25 come by and hold them, it is faster and cheaper than using the gas chamber to kill them...:lau

I was kind of planning Friday night drive and sleep in the van next to the birds, but I am not real keen on that idea with my back and other problems right now.

EJB What or how many Appletini's do you want? I am down to my original trio and a chick I might have a couple young ones but not sure. They are at the age they are hard to tell from the Pollacks (That I hope I am out of, forever)...
