Good morning all!

I've seen some PC conversation the last couple of days. Pleased to go out this morning and find my last pullet in the nesting box.

I want to thank you so much for this picture...Mike G. might be looking for you after Nov. 1st.

I have never gotten a close up view of his penciling before on his LF PC. I can compete! I am ecstatic! I was not going to bring a PC Hen or Pullet to Hutch. I am now.

I was checking some of mine after seeing the picture Looking for the triple penciling on the wings and tails. I have 2 hens with it well. I might even have a Pullet or two, but they might be too young for the shows.

I did have to remove a PC cockerel from the potential show bird cages today. He has started growing bumps on his comb almost like a rose comb. That is a no-no.

Mnchickmom.. No worries it is not either of your favorite roosters.... Also I managed to remove Knothead from his cage (Psycho's Brother) with no injuries to myself or him and he actually allowed me to man handle him with no complaints or fighting...I was impressed...

It was not the same for Psycho aka Knucklehead, I have deep cuts on my forearms and wrists from just removing him from the cage. I am thinking his bath time could be interesting.


I have all my birds now de-loused and de-mited except the layers and turkeys. I saw a couple mites so I am glad it is done. Now I have to clean and disinfect all the pens for winter.

When I was putting the "stuff" on the birds some would scream bloody murder. Hobbles would come running to their aid all puffed up and ready to attack. Someone a rooster all puffed up and ready to attack when he has no feet or claws is kind of funny. I tried not to laugh at Hobbles, but he looked so pathetic and funny in his attack stance.

I took the time to look at each bird, I am extremely happy with the fluff, feathering and conditions overall. Not sure if it will impress the judges. But I am satisfied and that's what counts.....after all what does a stinkin judge know?

That part does bother me some!! argggggh.. I still want to beat or at least place well against him. He is the gold standard on these to me.



BTW I did look the penciling over very very closely on his bantams last year.

Hobbles is a Dom rooster. He is stubborn. Last winter I found him with both feet frozen off and his comb nearly froze off. I felt sorry for him and brought him into the barn.

I thought he would die. I placed him on a little bed and waited for him to pass. He never passed!

He got better and lived. He runs fast on his stubs. I need to use a net to catch him. He has become a pet.

It was a really cold night when he lost his toes. I had one rooster that was actually froze to the roost in an upright position dead. I am assuming Hobbles was too proud to go into the coop. Each group has a coop they can go into, some idiots just never do.
