Ralphie - not sure what mango hit you on the head but I had -12 when I did morning chores and -10 at 7:30 when I went to work - and we don't live thaaaaaat far a way from each other.

It's positively balmy here compared to what ILL's getting, but still cold enough to make me wish my gloves were thicker. One of my stupid Silver Ameraucanas has been under the coop for two days and she won't come out for food or water.

I threw food under there for her, just trying to keep her alive at this point, but I can't fit a water bowl under there. I am amazed the weasels haven't eaten her yet.

One should never look at the thermometer before NOON this time of year, and on cold days bring it into the house for at least an hour before reading it.
