Surviving Minnesota!

I have a very brave or brazen Cream Legbar Cockerel. He is just a tad over 6 months if I count right.

He has been living in the barn (free ranging in the barn). He has decided he is old enough to make it in the big chicken world. I have been watching him the last few days trying to move in with the layers. I expect in a week or so he will just pack his bags and live in the layer coop full time.

Somehow he has managed to survive the wrath of Sven and Leif. He even tried to mount a hen today. Sven put a stop to that.

I have to give him Kudos' for having guts though.

My second hatch of the year is going well. I've barely opened the incubator this time and decided not to raise the humidity for lockdown. I moved 14 to the brooder this morning, 4 more hatched and I'm waiting on 11 eggs to do something. All toads.

Toads??? my toads?

Jerry that young brazen cockerel has taken the cake for stupidity. He walked over to the waterer and started the "look what I found for you" dance and clicking.... He thinks the hens would have never found the water without him...

I am starting to wonder if he is part Polish and not 100% legbar.
