When I first got this place there was always a flock of 20 pigeons flying around. They were going through the chicken feed pretty fast. I figured that I could take care of 20 pigeons pretty easily with a .22. After taking out 25 of them and there was still a flock of 20 flying around, I switched to a scattergun. After eliminating 150 of them and still having a flock of 20 flying around, I gave up and put bird netting over the run to keep them out.

Turned out a neighbor who had been raising pigeons decided he was tired of feeding them and turned them loose. Once other people found out I was shooting them, more people joined in and now it is rare for a pigeon to show up here.

Sorry your getting such nasty weather Jerry...However, in the interest of complete honesty... Better you than us...

I just wish the sun would come out and we hit 40 degrees for a day or two to get rid of this ice. I cannot even walk in my drive it is so slippery. I need to ride the ATV to the barn. I am afraid of a slip and fall breaking these old bones. I can't even park the ATV in it's shed, I need it by the deck as walking to the shed is dangerous...

Cold would be better without this ice. Packed snow would be better.

I have to slip my way to the car and head to Foley to get my Marak's vaccine this morning.

Things continue to malfunction here . This time it is the water softener . New one needed . I will wait for the next 11% off at Menard's . Got 20 years out of that one .

I have only been getting 10yrs out of the last 2... I was waiting for a sale when the last one went... ummm that was before I retired, still haven't gotten around to it... is a pain to keep bathroom fixtures clean without one.

Good morning chicken folk. Sun’s out but she ain’t giving much heat. -8 this morning.

I’ve been noting my New Hampshire has not been rolling out the pop door for morning treats and water like the rest in the morning. I put up a second high roost and although I find she likes getting up there she’s a bit nervous getting down. So each morning I need to step in the coop to help her down in time so she gets some treats too. I love it. it’s kind of cute and plus I get to hold her soft plumpness for a bit... she must have stubbed a toe. or something before. Glad to help. She sqwauks a bit but I think she’s now starting to get it.

Happy anniversary jerry and janet. And happy ice skating rinks too. ?

Our dirt road is glare ice. The warm ups are just enough to add to this issue.

Kids have pep band tonight but not until 7. What do they do until that starts? DD has BB practice. DS goes fishing Leech until the hockey game starts. We live about 30 miles from the school so it doesn’t pay to come home first. He has his own stuff. They had the same situation Monday and he caught some jumbo perch. Love where we live .
