They also have a lower ratio of white to dark meat.. which is why I added them to the toads.I have raised Red Rangers. I like them. I haven't actually butchered any yet, though. I got some last spring. A mink killed all the cockerels. The pullets were the first to lay in the fall, laid most through the winter and were the first to start laying regularly this spring. As long as they don't show any signs of ill health or injury, I'm going to keep them around as long as I can. I think they're much easier to raise than Cornish X.
