Surviving Minnesota!

With the strange up and down weather my hatches have been abysmal. The last batch we're all shrink wrapped. I managed to assist several and had to bathe one it was so badly sticky and stuck. I seem to have a hen going broody though. If she's serious I'm happy to let her do the work.

Hopefully we get the garden turned over this weekend. It's been dry this week, so barring any rain, progress.

We had a shock to our community last week and I'll be going to a memorial service today, along with my kids and most of the school. A boy I knew well and watched grow up committed suicide. His younger brother is Dolly's best friend. It's going to be a hard day. I'm already emotional.

We have had lots of frost, yesterday it was 25° when I went out for chores in the morning. It misted here yesterday, the moisture has been nice

Somehow 22 chicks left L&M fleet with me yesterday. No clue how they got there...

Of course. Naughty buggers keep doing the same for me.

I was in the L & M fuzzy butt stow away club last week. They are dangerous places.

Dreary day out there. Some moisture predicted but did not happen at 5 Am as predicted. Roads drying out beautifully. Maybe even dusty.
We have a good boy in Sentry. He knows I’m the food lady. He constantly makes the most delightful treat noises rolling around in his voice and last night the New Hampshire slept next to him. First girl to do so. He’d been solo on his roost until last night. Abigail had been harassing them both I think. She was standing on the same lower roost and Sunny the NH looked like she had been taking cover under his crop. What is her deal?! Such a brat!
Sadie Turned 4 on Monday . She had been ignored all day (school, work, spring band concert) then Trev broke out the guitar and sang her a birthday diddy. She loves the guitar.

It is snowing!! I think I might have to move out of the banana belt if global warming means snow here in summer..
This is from an email that I received earlier this year.

"Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention 'Global Warming' anymore, but just 'Climate Change'.

It's because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming advocates got caught with their pants down."
