Surviving Minnesota!

I thought about going there or above Spirit Mountain, bear the chalets to take a picture, but I was in a hurry to get back home. The heat in Duluth was killing me...(not something you hear said very often)

When hot here it seems oppressive due to high humidity. My central air is not functioning. I am hoping for the wind to switch from the East.

Do your birds get dirty butts in the summer?
I looked at Freya and she has a ball hanging just below her vent made of poop and dust. I think they are looser on swamp water and different bugs grass etc. idk. I suppose egg laying keeps the cloaca stretched too. Idk.. probably time for probiotic also.
And some fluff baths.

Yes. I think I need to worm them, though, because it's not only in summer.

1 and 1/2 inches of rain overnight with strong storms. It has cooled things off and made things even wetter than it has been. I will say that it has been many years since the mosquitoes have been this bad. We need a killing frost. Just kidding about that. This weather has resulted in the nursery plants needing to be hand watered less frequently.
Chickens don't mind as there is likely a bumper crop of insects and new plant growth for them to munch on. Too bad they are not seriously impacting the mosquito population.
