Surviving Minnesota!

Deer get points in their afterlife depending on the amount of damage they can do.

Not all points are even, damage to flowers in a yard are the lowest points.

Agricultural crop damage is higher.

In the middle of the scale is damage to garden crops.

Next is vehicle damage for example; When I went to forage mushrooms with Jerry and BC that deer for example git points for damage to my van then bonus points for doing over $3,000 in repair bills.

The top points are for boats and airplanes. It takes timing and skill for a deer to take down a plane. But it happens more than most people know.

At least antelope will run alongside your vehicle before making a mad dash across the road in front of you.

Deer totally do that, too. At least our local deer gangs do...

Deer get points in their afterlife depending on the amount of damage they can do.

I have always suspected as much! Thanks for confirming!

Based on the amount of rainfall this year I have extrapolated the snow fall for this winter.

Here in the banana belt we can expect 202.5 feet. The rest of you will get more.

Not that I would ever whine but this is getting ridiculous. It won’t stop raining long enough for me to get ready for the snow even..

Ditto - STOP RAINING! We are hosting an outdoor wedding at the farm this weekend with 400 guests. The barn holds 425....we don't have room for this rain nonsense to dampen our spirits. This is downright RIDICULOUS!

Lots of rain around here. Yesterday I saw an eek of blue sky but back to heavy gray skies in a wink today. YUCK. Cave dwellers again it seems.

I don’t have to plant clover. And we do get lots of deer... now and then elk, too. Sometimes more than I can count. I never even thought of feeding them and no one else lives anywhere near. Guess what? They still cross the road. They hide behind the undergrowth and listen for cars. They space themselves out so that just when you think it’s safe to proceed, another one takes off across the road, making a shot for that big green meadow in the sky. They must have some weird religion that drives them mad...

And we forgot to apply for our deer/elk tags again this year and I need better dog food. Our poor aging lab/Golden is so itchy he tears holes in the base of his ears. Benadryl and fish oil don’t seem to help. Deer would have been perfect. DH won’t eat it and if I’m honest, I really don’t care for the taste but I’ll bet the doggies would be through the moon. (They’re so cute.) Oh well... I’ll figure it out.

It is snowing.
We have a guy in town that will carve up a road kill (recents) for his dog. He and his wife. It's alot of work but I guess they believe in it for their dogs. They are normal hard working people that just pay attention to certain things you know. IDK. I wish I had the time for things like that or the gumption I guess. He's an avid hunter, too. Ralphie just so you know I still feel bad about that. I know too that day was basically a walk in the woods.
