Let the coop open this morning. I really am liking my lavender Orpingtons. I even got a roster in that trio which is just fine with me. These 6 hang out together as they were bought and raised together. So fun to watch them. The other Rhode Island reds are hiding in the weeds. They all just walk around me now.
The babies all survived their first storm outside. So that’s good

Here near the Western tip of Lake Superior the weather fronts very frequently split with part going South and the balance going North. That has happened all Spring and Summer this year. We did get 1/2 inch of rain Sunday evening which doubled our total for the season.
Last night was a good old fashioned Thunder Storm here. To this point this morning we have received 1 and 3/4 inches of much needed rain. It was not a good night of sleep however, as one of the dogs is terrified by loud thunder. A shaking 20 lb. dog can definitely be felt even on a king size bed, and especially when he gets in your face to be consoled.
