Surviving Minnesota!

Confirmed my first pullet order. I'm getting a Cream Legbar, a Wheaten Marans, a Beilefelder, and three crosses. All to be 8-10 weeks old on July 1st when the Plymouth BYC ordinance goes into effect. I better get working in my new coop and run.

It is 33 here at noon. Went to Fleet Farm this morning and bought 9 bags of feed. Most for the race birds but some for the Marans flock as well. The chickens are not eating as much feed now that the snow is gone. It is quite remarkable that they find so much to eat at this early point in the season.
Jerry, you must be feeling better to be out and about ?
Ralphie has been here on a limited basis and perhaps his poultry keeping days are winding down to 0 ?

My poultry days are indeed winding down.

However, I am busy with syrup making at the moment.

I am thinking about getting rid all my turkeys, incase any of you are interested.

I am finally getting eggs again after the long dry spell.

My feed is nearly nothing as they are finding so much to eat outside.

On a side note, I came across moose poop yesterday while tapping birch. I was surprised to find it this far south and this close to my buildings.

Yes sometimes but I think the antibiotics make me feel blah . I had a doctor followup visit yesterday so I plant shopped a bit . About 4 more days on antibiotics .

Jerry - GLad to hear you are on the mend. Antibiotics are tough on the systems....especially to kill C-Diff.

Ralphie - I call B.S. on the moose poop. My guess would be white tail poop.
