Surviving Minnesota!

Good luck on the splitter...

I hope the excess estrogen in Menard's does not affect you negatively.   I have chosen to spend Black Friday in our dining room, drinking coffee..

I got the splitter and right next to that display was a huge bin of dog beds so k scored 2 of them as a treat for my pups. Then I made a bee line for the checkouts before the lines for long. I made it through with out issue thankfully. That really isn't my forte. I'm used to perusing menards at my leisure.

Stopping off to see DW at work on my way home then I can play with my new toy

Naivity seems to be a state that catches a few off guard.

Ralphie I run a super Looooong cord to the coop from the house. I have had the cord plowed off by a naive husband. It's too bad I decided to build my coop so far away from the house honestly. But since I love the brisk air of winter's icy grip it has all worked out for the best. Plus roosters crowing at 4:00 am will be missed only a little.

Sadie Mae is limp this Am. Right front leg/paw. Can't tell which for sure or why. Horsing around with kids or pouncer cat activities-- not sure what. But I hope she snaps out of it. Vet bills are not my favorite bills.

Hopefully she is ok! Probably just played a little too hard. My pups frequently are dinging themselves up running and playing on the farm. Fortunately no permanent damage so far! Usually just cuts and scrapes from running through the brush

Thank you kloppers. I hope so too. We were lucky with the last lab not having joint issues. The one before her had the hip dysplasia.

I think it's a playing injury. I could help myself but I dug out some of jasmines anti inflammatories. Cut one in half as Sadie is half jasmines size and gave it to her. We'll see if it helps and turns her around but there's a part of me that thought afterward it would be good if she felt it a bit and knew to stay off it. She's sleeping now. But a day of not playing with kids and restricted pouncing is in order.

This half weighed 18 pounds. It doesnt look that big but if you saw that platter you would know that it is a huge turkey!! The whole thing together weighed 37 pounds. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!

Good morning peeps, hope you all are recovering nicely from yesterday. Holm, Wow! wow, wow, wow. That is a big turkey! Looks wonderful too!
BC hope your pup just needs a little R&R. Mine will overdue it running or roughhousing, then be sore and limping around for a couple of days, then is back to normal. hopefully that is what it is.
KlopKlop, way to get out there and scoring that log splitter, you are brave! I'm not planning on going near any store today, have to run to my mom's to drop something off in big lake, may have to take the backroads through town, not interested in going anywhere near that wal-mart, the road to go by it will be blocked by all sorts of ridiculousness. I haven't gone out on black friday in years. Don't plan on changing that. Some people really get off on that black friday stuff (my best friend is one). Don't get it

A little nippy out today. I opened the run door and their was a slight hesitation, but then they were off. Poor Fi is going to be naked, she is dropping so many feathers. started molting about 3 or 4 days ago poor girl

why she would wait so long, I don't know. Funny though, went in to let them out today, due to the bag balm on Fi's comb, she had a downy feather stuck to the top of her head,

Only Cluck-cluck is left to molt. I sure hope she doesn't wait until January!
