Surviving Minnesota!

We made the chooks two treat rings last night. I really like this recipe! I added a little extra corn for the turkeys. Hopefully they like it!

Fun! My mom is a 2nd grade teacher at a STEM school and wants me to help her hatch eggs for her class but they have a very strict no animals in the school of any kind rule so she can't

The principal even nixed her idea to have kids from the high school ag program come and present about animal care and life cycles because they wanted to bring some small animals (chicken, duck, rabbit, etc)

I know why they are that way, Makes me sad for the kids that they won't get to experience that. I remember very well about hatching quail eggs in elementary school.

All the school rules sort of drive me crazy. I understand it too. I thought my friend was going to lose her hatch project --she had heard grumblings--but when I asked her about it again, it seemed to be water under the bridge or forgotten about. So she went ahead taking advantage of their forgetfulness or whatever. I should email her and Theri and get things coordinated for this spring. Come to think of it.

Those projects are the ones that kids remember forever, too. It's unfortunate.

Did you figure out your kitty culprit or how are you handling Kitty Rugby in the coop? LOL.

I wish the school I went to would let me do the whole chick thing there! I remember how much we loved it! I should see if I could do that...

I missed Kloppers post until I saw BC quote it, That happens a lot to me. I am sure they are not there the first time I look..

What is a STEM school?

Holm, I thought you were homeschooled?

Also I have been re-thinking your exploding egg. I do not consider knocking an egg on the edge of a bucket to be an explosion. That is akin to pulling the trigger on a gun and saying it went off accidentally.
