Surviving Minnesota!

Our church used to run a school but they cut age groups and only have preschool through 6th grade so once I git to old I started homeschooling.

All the school rules sort of drive me crazy.  I understand it too.   I thought my friend was going to lose her hatch project --she had heard grumblings--but when I asked her about it again, it seemed to be water under the bridge or forgotten about. So she went ahead taking advantage of their forgetfulness or whatever.  I should email her and Theri and get things coordinated for this spring. Come to think of it.

Those projects are the ones that kids remember forever, too.  It's unfortunate.

Did you figure out your kitty culprit or how are you handling Kitty Rugby in the coop?  LOL.

I forgot to include that the nixed idea with the high schoolers was OUTSIDE! He wouldn't even allow that.

Flock Block Recipe

2cups scratch grain (I used Oats and Corn)

1 cup layer feed

1 cup dry oatmeal

¼ cup Wheat flour

1tsp. Ground cinnamon

½tsp. Cayenne pepper

3 eggs

½ cup molasses

½ cup liquified coconut oil

Pregeat oven to 325°f

Mix dry ingredients together and then add wet ingredients and mix well.

Pat into small baking dishes so your blocks are 6 inches wide and 2 inches thick.

Baje for 30 minutes then cool completely. Run a knife around the rim of the pan and invert to remove the block.

Feed!

There you go MNchickmom

Hmmm... Interesting. I did not know they had those for elementary schools..

Ralphie you could call yours Minnesota blacks . I saw on the EE thread someone bought what they are calling PA blacks .

Well I got eggs to pack for shipping .

Ralphie. I have very limited knowledge as relates to any Bars other than the ones which serve cocktails. Jerry is going to be a good source of info relating to Legbars, Rodebars and the rest of the Bars.
Holm, the detonated egg story is hilarious for those of us who were not there!!

I am lazy I guess, because I have no interest in growing sprouts, making flock blocks and etc. Purina sells flock blocks and the grocery store has all kinds of greens for the chickens to eat. I am not going to provide additional light or heat either. There are too many other things which I can entertain myself with.

Jerry when you go to Longville did you travel on Hwy 2 out of Duluth?

All of these chick photos are giving me the itch, but I have told myself to get none before the snow is gone.

Ours dont have any names that cant be said... But they have probably been called names that cant be said... Like when your milking and Lady the Jersey kicks the pail over when its half full...
