The Buckeye Laid an Egg! The Buckeye Laid an Egg! She did it off the roost and it did some back flips and broke Onto the Poop - Floor.

I think she's a nervous Nelly and doesn't want to get down unless she absolutely has to...or it was still dark. IDK...

But I'm almost sure it's her. She came up to the house and was doing some searching out of nests too. I suppose I'll find her and Lucy in the same nest tomorrow.

If you do not want to ship EE eggs, I have them. I have 2 EE roosters, both have the blue egg gene. One is Ole's kid. I got Ole from EJB. The other is Ole's kid too, but he is half Legbar. I do not want to poach Jerry's shipping of eggs, just letting you know I have them if you do not want shipped eggs. I had an EE rooster up until about a month or so ago, I had extras but they went for wok with a nice Asian family, and never returned from the wok. The half legbar rooster is sold, but I am not letting him leave here until May 1st.

went for a wok!

It was 27 when I woke up today. I briefly considered getting out the spring clothes. I will have to post some pictures of my last season, when I was a BYC absentee, to help boost moral.

Klop Klop, we have been very lucky this year. We all just got over an 18-hour thing, a little puking, a lot of sleeping, then right as rain. Everybody I know is having the crud run through the whole family for like four-week intervals. I'm hoping you have what we had, and not that junk. The nurse at my pediatrician's office called recently to remind me to bring my little guy in for his well-child visit. I told her he'd be in when he's a year old. No way is my crawling, grabby, mouthy, perfectly healthy baby going into a clinic during flu season. Anyway, get well soon. :)

Is this your first season with Buckeyes, Bogtown? Did you have any males over winter? I am thinking of adding a group at some point in the future, probably not this year. Wondering how the males' combs do in the winter, frostbite wise. I am pretty sure I solved my frostbite issue, but had no single-combed types this winter to be sure. I think that free-range nestbox is a good idea. I will have to see if I can knock something together with The Boy...

Jerry, I love hearing about your EE projects. Can't always comment with anything useful, but I really enjoy your posts.

Hi, Holm. How many gallons of milk do you get from Lady every day? I think I have heifer envy.

All Buckeyes should have a pea comb, so no frostbite issues there
