Surviving Minnesota!

Some bulls we looked at yesterday.

I never got pics of the four bulls we were considering but got pics of the pure simmental. The four we were looking at were Simmental Angus cross. Purebreds were $4500 a piece and mixes were $3500.

Nice looking bulls, but very $$$$!

The little girl that was not fluffing up is doing ok. I found her lying in the cage cold this morning. I thought she was dead. I almost just threw her in the garbage but I saw her gasp once, so I put her in the incubator.

I have been giving her water and egg yolk with a morphine syringe. ( What?? You don't have some of them lying around?)...

She is up walking around and looking good. She is even drinking water and pecking at feed on her own.

I have her with the one Judy talked to Ivie about with the wry leg. That cock-a-meiny thing amajig, she makes with a straw works! The little chick is walking around without any problems! She still has a crooked neck and I give her water and egg yolk with a syringe too. but she seems strong and hopefully will make it too. Why can't it be boys with these problems instead of girls? Not that either of these will become breeders, but they could join my layer flock.

The one with the bad neck actually reaches out for the tip of the syringe and takes it in her mouth when she wants more yolk or water. I will send pictures tomorrow.

Ohh my that was allot of Reading to catch up on. I'd like to comment on so many of them but my fingers are tired and swollen from setting up the chicken coop at the new farm. If I'm not too exhausted when I get home tonight I will try and put up some pictures of the new chicken coop. Once the chicken coop is done I will be working on Porter's house I only have one more week to pack the rest of the stuff in my house dig up trees flowers move everything and we close on the 15th. Miss you all and hope everyone is going to enjoy the nice weather coming up.

Coffee, unless it has been warmer in the Minnesota Banana Belt than I am aware of you are going to need a very strong and sharp shovel to be digging up trees and flowers at this time?
That new man may be wondering what he has gotten himself into?

While we have been enjoying highs in the 80's everyday it has still gotten cold enough to keep the sand firm, imitating rock even.

I tried to move a few inches yesterday and failed to get more than an inch of the top scraped.

The British gals have went almost a week without giving me even 1 egg. Any idea what that could be about?

The PC in Gitmo is not happy. I spent yesterday working in the shed she is in, she did not go more than about 2 minutes without reminding me she wanted out of her cell. I told her all she has to do is lay an egg and she will be free to live with Ed again.

I think the new man is going to end up giving up his golf clubs for a pitch fork and shovel.
