Surviving Minnesota!

No pizza place anymore :( We have Four Seasons which is like a steak house/burger place and Our Place which is just a mom and pop restaurant. Wildhurst Camp Ground has pizza but its the cardboard frozen stuff. Come on...you wouldn't drive to the ends of the earth for prime poop???

I really hate to deflate the ego of someone who thinks they have the best poop in the world. but I consider Horse Poop the Milwaukee's Best of poop. I would call it Buckhorn but I doubt anyone here remembers it. For those of you under 21 that have never had a beer. Those are the worst beers known to civilized mankind.

I prefer bovine poop. Chicken poop is good but applied fresh it has too high a nitrogen content and burns stuff. Horse poop is only semi-digested compared to cow poop. So you get weed seeds and chunks..

Now that I have done a whole post on poop. my day is complete.

Nice pictures Holm.

Bogtown.....I'm glad I didn't come home to that mess and hope I never will because I don't forsee dogs in my future...tried it and it failed not enough time to train properly.

.....Speaking of messes I got a call from my son. "Mom you will need to pick up more shavings probably 2 more bales. The big chicks broke one of the water cups off and there is a lot of wet shavings, and I am off to grandpas to plant corn have fun cleaning." Yup 4rth day of transitioning them to drinking cups = epic fail. 20 gallons of water all over. Shut off the system.....will not be restarted until modifications can be made. Wet shavings removed, dry shavings applied. Chicks are happy to dig. Old trusty waterers are back and life is good. I even managed to bake a few homemade flock blocks. (With hand ground corn that my 3 year old niece is so proud of. - I will wait for her to visit again this weekend so she can feed it to the chickens.)

Bogtown, I think that dog needs a playmate. Then it will have a source to which expend it's energy that will not damage property?

Appenzeller Spitzhauben may be considered a foo foo breed by many, dur to it's having feathers on its head. Not like Polish, and consequently they are not as flighty. They can see what is around them.
Yah. Nobody was home to throw that **** tennis ball so she had a hissy fit. Completely bored out of her skull.

Erli gave away a gorgeous Appenzeller Spitzhauben Roo a few years back--I still remember, Erli...If I didn't have Big Tootsie way back when he would have been mine.
I cannot tease you on that fine choice of gorgeous birds.
BC your Dad seems like a smart man. I guess I did not need to write my post I was so proud of..

Should I be looking for some of those appletinny birds for the burbs people EJB?
He is a highly intelligent man. He has his vices though...that are not so smart.

Actually my roo was a Silver Spangled Hamburg, because I couldn't find Appenzeller Spitz and they looked somewhat alike. Turned out to be both roos :( they were very nice birds.

Quick Manure Story: My family is all about playing pranks....So youngest sister asked my brother and I if we could prepare her new 5 foot by 8 foot garden at her new home in the middle of town. Broke the sod applied a nice 2 inch layer of chicken manure and tilled the final tilling. We received many many butt chewings that summer as she had to pay to water the cr@p out of her garden so it wouldn't burn up. She did however, make lots of neighbor friends who liked fresh produce.

Feels colder than it really is today . Windy and slightly cloudy . For all intents the Morel season is done in my area . Very poor season . Spent about 10 hours total looking for a total of 5 . Out looking 2 hours yesterday . Nothing . Then I had to rest my knee most of the day . Too much needs done to waste more time looking . I did push brush with my compact tractor bucket for a hour or so . I so want to go fishing for sunfish . Cooked up some frozen sunfish last night . One package left in the freezer .
