Surviving Minnesota!

After a long dry spell of no white sports....This:

As you can see I am so happy, I have a Mike's to celebrate!... I had split up my breeders that give me the whites! They are now together and I know which rooster it is! I am so happy... It is one of 4 hens. It is not a mother/son or Father/daughter pair as I had guessed, It is Brother/sister pair.

Tilled a spot in the garden and planted zuccihinni . Picked my first radish . Peas are about a foot high . Swiss chard is up . Yesterday it got to 83 today 65 . Threatened to rain all day but only a few sprinkles . Got the mowing done.

Ralphie, sorry about the delayed response related to the truck ad. You definitely get an A for creativity, and the old adage may apply. Which is "if you don't ask you won't get".
At my place we currently have 5 trucks and 2 suvs. There are only 3 drivers in residence, and as you may guess there is not much need for additional motor vehicles. In addition I would be remiss not to mention that we are a total GM household.
I spent 30 + years in my second career as a sales mismanager and general mismanager at auto dealerships. I have been involved with all new vehicle franchises except Honda. I prefer GM vehicles for many reasons which I will not bore you with.

If you do start to hatch Guinea keets and have an abundance let me know. I may be interested in a few. We are forecasted to have a bad tick season, and a few more guineas would help to keep them in check.

I will go out tomorrow and give the Guinea Hens a good stern talking too.

Now it is picture time!!!

First the cute "blue" one. The color is not as realistic as I would like, an IPhone failure.

Here is all 5 of the survivors of the disastrous hatch of '16. I think the one just to the left of the blue one is a PC. I did not mark these as they were such a weak hatch I refused to sell any.

Same as above but shows side view of blue one.

And this was unbelievable. The other day when I got my old truck "fixed" again. I had Judy follow me to Elk River to make sure it was running ok. I brought with me tools to pull the axle and the wheel bearings incase of a problem. We stopped every couple miles so I could feel the bearings to make sure they were not getting hot. When we got to Elk River Judy wanted to go into Walmart. I picked a parking place as far away from people as I could. I parked in 4 spaces, so I could pull the axles if need be. I wanted lots of room around me...

When we came out this is what we found...The old truck is mine...There is not room to get in my passenger door.

I guess the other 400 spots around me did not appeal to the PITA.
Cute chicks! Wow, I think whoever parked there was unreasonably angry for you taking four spots.

I don't, but I'll take a picture next time I drive by. It won't be a close picture as I don't want to look too much like a creeper, but I'll snap a few. Did your pigeon run into something?

@duluthralphie , that's hilarious about your parking spot! Some people....

@holm25 , I candled the duck eggs yesterday. 5/8 have little embryos jumping around. I was rather surprised. Fingers are crossed they get through the next few weeks. Still no eggs from Cleo. I'm going to set up some better nesting areas in the run to day and see if I can get her laying. With the addition of Caesar's new ladies, I'm willing to give her an egg pass for a little while.
Haha, that could be scary! I'm not really sure, I don't think so. He wasn't flying to well but I don't think he was that bad. Unless he didn't see the screen on the door.
