Ralphie, what are you going to do when Judy bans your Amazon shopping? If that happens there will be no more foo foo Peruvian as Klop calls it.

Well I will say this: They had started young that way. And a couple of the adults that I've obtained as adoptees --maybe were more likely penned birds do seem to hang back at the feeder in the coop...but then soon catch up to the rest. So if their pattern is to leave them cooped in the mornings (many do for egg laying and such) then it's possible they've just got a rhythm to what they do for their meals. When it's spring Roger is anxious to get the girls out of the coop and the girls are anxious to get out of the coop and have space from him if he's particularly randy. So that's a factor too...time of year and a zealous Rooster.

We have alot of low land and I know they don't pause for drinking water in the coop ...like they do now. Almost the first thing they do is get a drink off the roost here in the winter. Then Eat. Then Preen.

Judy ruins everything fun for me!!

The sad part is she knows I ordered it already. She set up the Amazon Prime in her name, so all the orders go to her email address. I would like to change that, but my email address is on an non-prime account. It would be better for all if the email from Amazon came to me than her.

I am amazed at Blooie's ability to recycle. Who would have thought you could recycle the golden caps from Chicken teeth!

I am hoping to raise multiple smaller batches of CX this year. I will try to time one batch so that I can raise them in the rotational paddocks with the pigs. Aka when the pigs move to a new paddock the chickens will go on the previous one. Do you think pigs would bother chickens if I let them mingle?

I've concluded that The Chicken Chick is kinda like the Dr. Oz of the medical field. I hate when patients come in and say...."Well, Dr. Oz said......". *crickets chirping*

I've found some interesting information and ideas on her page, but she's quite adamant with her methods. However, I wish my coop set up looked as fancy as hers. Ignore my jealousy and opinions. It'll pass after I eat.

to anyone who does raise broilers - Do you feed dry food or make a wet mash? if wet, do you allow it to ferment at all?

Klop my pullets were always with the pigs. They even roosted on them. Since we make cheese from the milk from our Jersey we fed lots of feed soaked with the( I might spell this wrong) whey.

Has anyone tried corn fodder?? It sucks to grow!! And our middle room upstairs smells like I got a batch of mash cooking.

She has a Vet from her town or nearby that she references all her stuff with. So if you have a differing opinion she feels backed up by her vet. So thus the stone wall thing she has going on. I followed her page until I saw a chick dressed up in barbie sun glasses and on a little skate board. Ahhhh....yeah... Then I simply "Unfollowed" her. I had also wittnessed some impatient comments on her side for the folks that follow her. And was not impressed.

When you do a blog you need to expect all kinds of people and be humble.

I follow a different blog and she does a great job.
