Surviving Minnesota!

The good news - The new toilet was installed in record time. Turns out the flush parts come pre-assembled in them now
The bad news - the supply line is about 3/4" too short to reach the new toilet tank and i am not driving 20 miles for a supply line.

The other good news - Bonus redneck points for having a toilet in my yard! Instead of awkwardly trying to drain the old toilet i disconnected it all at once picked the whole lot up and carried it out to the yard. The bolts holding it down were so rusted i didnt even have to unscrew them. just scratched at them with the wrench a little then yanked!

DW doesnt know it yet but i think i will leave it there until spring and then plant flowers in it :)

the Flower 'pot'. LOL

Yep me too with the clay and lowlands oh and a lake nearby.  Heck I think I can do cranberries with this land of mine!  LOL now how to advertise them...............Ralphie!!!

I think I can advertise them for u for $20.00 a bushel. Now it might seem like an outrageous price but these are home grown canberries! You will get 1.0%of the profit! What a deal!!

Don't need any of them fancy birds. I want fat and meaty!i think buckeye over CX could do well. Buck has a real deep barrel chest that I think will mix well with the Cornish cross

It was impossible for my Welsummer roo to breed my CX hen. He would try but he vould only reach to just above the "target" so his "bullet" didnt hit its mark. In other words I never had any viable eggs from them. BUT my roo was a little clumsy...

Rhetts, what's the latest from the cow nursery?

Not any thing new to update. She is sitting happy out of the crazy winds chewing her cud. :) Those two Herefords are S P O I L E D. No wonder they don't want to birth. Nice shed, hay bale all to them selves, out of the weather, no one picking on them chasing them around, poop clean up services, and of course the loving from us by scratching them. Birthing would mean we would kick them out of their lovely shed back to pasture with everyone else. I am on to them. :)

Oh you are so generous!!!

Rhett's I can see you out there giving scratches and belly rubs. Next will be hoof soaks spas.

Okay. I did it! And I did not burn down my house yet!

You guys would like them. They are caged industrial barn lamps. Well look alikes any how. With vintage LED lights. I've since learned that you can order similar from tool catalogs cheaper. Lol. Live and learn and I didn't spend too much on these from Home Depot either.

Those lights look great. Love the look. Good job.

Sounds like Ms. Cow is enjoying her "confinement".

Hi all,

It's been a crazy week. Our 14 year old cat quit eating, and was wasting away. Ended up finding out she had cancer, and put her down on Thursday, as she was basically starving to death. That night, my sister went into labor. She had her baby boy the next morning. He got stuck, and ended up with a broken arm, so they sent him down to Children's. I spent a few days visiting and driving her around. Thankfully, he is just fine and home now, and they think the arm should heal in 2 weeks.

As for chickens, Sunday I had to put the sick pullet out of her misery. I found her on her back, and she couldn't stay upright anymore. Can't get better if you can't even sit up.
This morning I found my favorite hen dead. I have noticed she was low on energy and last night she looked pale. She didn't seem to have any symptoms otherwise, and was eating, so I didn't do anything about it. She might have just gotten old, although she was only 4. Nobody else seems to be weak or sick, so I hope that's enough of that for now. Although, I plan to cull one of the roosters soon.

I think my "chicks" are big enough to join the rest of the crew. It will make the rest of the winter easier.
