Surviving Minnesota!

Quote: Go get some antlers, they last forever. we get ours from the vet, you could get yours from the woods there i imagine.
For anyone who does have antlers laying around, I bought an antler knob (or drawer pull) on ebay for the cupboard in my bathroom, you could make a bundle (Holm...)

That sounds like Pearl.

Reagan can have a toy for years and never destroy it. Reagan eats her food in a dainty fashion if left to herself.

Pearl wolves food down, destroys any toy in seconds. Squeakies are her favorite. She loves digging the squeaker out. She likes to chase and bark at any little animal she sees. She is jealous of everything. I was holding a chick the other day and she jumped into my lap to get held too.

She seems smart enough to not hurt the birds here. She has learned they are off limits. She sneaks things into the house all the time. You would not believe the smelly dead things we have found on the floor. We make her stop and open her mouth for us when we let her in the house. If she does not stop, look at us and "smile" we know she is bringing something in.

8 years old and still a puppy. She no longer chews chair legs and that stuff, but is still puppylike in her actions. We are really worried about Reagan, she is having terrible issues getting around. We think she has arthritis as some days she seems fine others we think she is on her last leg. The other night we actually talked about "we are not going to have her much longer".

Then all dog duties will fall on Pearl. We are just not sure she can take over the mantle.
I would get her on glucosamine daily and an aspirin a day (buffered) when needed.

It is nice and sunny out here! My chickens might actually be out and about today. I need a webcam for my coop

Got one, it is great, go get one on amazon, the one I have, the price dropped 10 bucks!

This is my OEGB rooster, he is a excellent flier.

Very cool!

Thank you! The editing is pretty easy actually with a good camera. To be honest I had never thought about domestic turkeys flying. I suppose white midgets can fly, but can Broad breasted turkeys?

Thank you both!

Are you using a GoPro Nathan or your phone? I really like the slow mo on that you did there...Especially watching the dynamics of that bird flying and landing. Quite mesmerizing.

Good idea Cluckies on the antler. I may find one for her. Although the beef bone leg bone thing is quite hard and difficult for her to break down. But then she does start to get bored with it when she can't get any purchase on it any more.

Here is the antler drawer pull, it goes with my bathroom decor.

Here are two giggle sticks that also hang in there, they were made by my aunt (RIP) about 35 years ago or so, I just grab them off of the wall when needed,

Here is a photo of my Grandpa Holm (RIP) back when he was a young man. It hangs in there as well. (don't mind the cheezy frame, looking for something better)

Can't wait to see BC's bathroom when it is done!

Oh Thank you Cluckies. We're just going to peck away on it for a while. $100 here and there until we get it done. So it may take a bit.

I love the photo of your Grandpa with the fox. That's pretty great.

So what should I do? Again...LOL:
The plumber who is a nice guy and good acquaintance. He and his wife are sorta friends but we don't really hang out much...they are in good standing in the community and such. Well He put in the Morton and softener and all the "In pipes" and "Out Pipes" that were on the old softener were in copper and covered with a foam tube covering. I looked because I thought of trying to put it in myself until I saw soldered pipe. So I check it while I'm home on lunch break and all In and Out pipes have been replaced with Plastic Piping. I assume that with the weld jobs and such he had to cut away that to accommodate the new fittings with the softener. But interestingly enough the copper pipes and copper connection to the old softener is gone. Just the old softener sitting there. I sort of wanted it for my steam Punk decor to see if I could do something with it. Do I make a big deal of this? or what. I know that the copper pipe wasn't cheap.

Ugh...I hate when people put me in these positions.

Edited to say that I think I will just leave it be...I'm sure my husband will tamp me down on this.

Thank you Ralphie. It's already installed and were good to go.

Talked to DH and he said because new one had plastic fitting/ valves which are 3/4 inch instead of 1 inch house code he had to run to buy new at hardware store.
And I'm sure he thought we'd just want to throw away something he accumulates a recycles. Not realizing my decorative ideas and thoughts on the matter, of course. Sometimes having a "cheap" thinking mind is not a pretty thing to have.

Ok, I misunderstood you. BUT I do not talk female very well and misunderstand a lot. Just ask Judy.

I am through plowing snow for today. I put one of those expensive braided stronger than steel guaranteed to no backlash on the drum PVC/Kevlar cables for my ATV.

Well, It broke backlashed and looks to be a real mess in there. I have decided to fix it tomorrow. My thumb is too cold tonight. I went to get the bobcat to finish plowing, but it is blocked in the shed by the trailer full of Lumber I was hiding from Judy. I need my truck to move the trailer out. I had snow piled about 4 ft high behind the truck when the guaranteed to never break cable broke. Fine fix I am in now.

If I cannot get the cable to unwrap tomorrow I will have to unload the trailer by hand, stack the wood somewhere so I can move the trailer by hand. Not looking forward to that. OR I could shovel by hand a 4 ft tall 8 ft wide 13 ft long pile of frozen snow.. Looking forward to that even less.

In addition when I was in at noon I looked at my incubator the one with the eggs set to hatch on the 10th, It was at 103 degrees! I am hoping it is still okay, The probe was moved out of place. I am hoping the probe was touching the heating element and the temp was not really 103. This is fast becoming a bad day.

In addition I got only 3 creamette eggs and no PC eggs. and the one wrinkled toad egg.

I think I need a Yukon jack,,,

Well we bought a cow today!! My grandpa found an ad for eight bred angus so he bought 7 and told us there was one left and we got it. We are going to go to the auction next Tuesday and find a bull and maybe more heifers. We are looking for a MONSTER balck angus bull. But they r hard to find a giant...
