Surviving Minnesota!

I just searched a little bit: wry neck. 5leepy & lacrystol seems to have had good results with vitamin E and polyvisol drops in the first 5 days and hand feeding a to keep them eating (as there's mechanical diificulty in that) by wetting the chick starter. And she said it seems like there's days of no improvement then all of a sudden the neck comes around. The leg being off maybe as a result of the neck. But maybe seperate too.

Ralphie I don't think you are to blame. I think these things happen and it's in a higher persons hands as to how these chicks come out of the egg. Perhaps it was a struggle with the zipping because the chick already had the condition. That's what I think personally.

That could be, I just wish I could get it down pat, when to help and when not too. It is such a guessing,

Ralphie how many eggs are you expecting to hatch this round?

I have 5 girls and 2 boy hatched

I have another unzipping right now and one pipped. I think I have 4 more possible. I have 2 long shots in the hatcher, but they are very very very long shots.

If I get a dozen I am ecstatic. In reality I will get one or two more. I am happy with this hatch though. I had a lot of non-starters but it happens when dealer with eggs that have froze and the roosters early in the year. Each hatch should get batter from now on. My next one is the 21st. Then the 2nd of March.

Here is a video I took of Lucky. I dog the three I have left out of their pen to change the diapers in the pen. I put them in the dog bed and Lucky went nuts.. He ran all over, Jumping and acting silly. He would not do it again on his/her own, so Judy put her had in the dog bed and he/she came running over to inspect it. Lucky seems to like people. I had a hard time keeping up with him on camera when he took off...

Still stalking this thread. I only go back 10 pages to catch up.

Sorry BC & Coffee for the loss.

Ralphie chicks are adorable.

Ivie good luck with SC.

Chickens have been doing good. Haven't lost anymore to the pup. He's learning how not to be a juvenile delinquent.
Dh goes in for surgery Wed so I should have plenty of time to catch up then.

I was under the impression that your DW didn't really like your poultry, but she likes the chicks?

we are trying to come up with a logo for our farm to use on our cartons and to make a sign for our farmers market booth and this is my first draft. I am not a graphic designer, but i can fiddle in MSPaint haha

I am still looking for just the right font for the name of our farm to add to it. what do you guys think??
