I planted 6 new fruit trees last spring so hopefully the root ball is still pretty shallow and didn't spread that much. and I guess the new owners don't want them apparently they attract bees. LOL.. So they told their realtor they are just going to get rid of them. And I spent small fortune on my forever and ever hydrangeas so those babies r coming with. Good thing I have a strong 24 yr old son. LOL..
 
Finally got caught up! whew! I had multi-quoted, but since it took me several days, they disappeared.

MinnesotaNice and BC, hope you guys have great vacations! I haven't been anywhere in years either, can't trust anyone with my puppies, and now my chickens. Maybe someday. We are not much for traveling though rather stay home and get rest than travel and get exhausted, deal with people and crowds, etc. I always say, "I'm not prejudiced, I hate everybody." its pretty much true!

Lilbear, your babies are very cute! I also had a couple that would always jump up on the side of the brooder every time I lifted the hardware cloth cover, fun stuff. I think if I was going to move them outside, i'd give them a little heat at first, that they can be by, or go away from as they like, be it MHP, ceramic heater, or lamp. fun!
Jerry, EJB, and Ralphie, love the genetics talk, I don't understand most of it, but more and more as you talk about it, i catch on to some tidbit here and there, it sure is interesting.
If anyone is going to grow a chocolate brown egg layer (say cuckoo marans) with a cushion comb or rose comb, I want

I"d love some chocolate eggs in my carton. how wonderful that would be. But I don't want to deal with a single comb and frostbite (again).
Coffee, wow, you are a busy girl! It sure did come up fast! How fun though, "nesting" love it! Good luck getting your trees and plants out. if you can't get them out, maybe ask them if you can come back in a month and get them?
Well, that is all I can remember right now, I know there was tons more I wanted to comment on, but, oh well, what can you do...
Should be nice today, smelled like spring when I went out to let the girls out and clean the coop. Windy of course though. cripes, can't have a nice day without that terrible wind!

I thought C and D were Rees lines, I actually thought they only had 3 lines, The first two and then Jill Rees. I assume the 4th line was a Rees line too.

Which means, some one has no idea what they are talking about when they say Rees lines do not have white sports. I was under the impression Heidi got them right from Greenfire, so there would be no interbreeding. Not that it would make a lot of difference.

Hey all! been busy this weekend, enjoying the weather!

We burned our brush pile. Dry christmas trees were used for effect. Ignition source included a container of gasoline and a 'scary black attack rifle' from 50 yards. turns out it made less of a spectacle than we hope. It still got the fire going :)





Unfortunately the fire scared one of our cats who promptly climbed a tree and got stuck... this required several people to spot while a small friend of mine climbed that twig and saved him.
Opposite this was 2 other cats that ran into the wood pile that was on fire... riddle me that? the eventually came out but i dont quite know what they were thinking.

No whites yet . My origiinal rooster never produced one . I switched to a cockerel hoping a hen passed it on to some of the young . May not be in the ones I got .

Well. let's just keep our fingers crossed I get more. Even if I only get an extra rooster or two it would help you.
