Surviving Minnesota!

I hope so. I hatched the little guy back in October, so I have a soft spot for him and his brother. He's very beautiful! He came out of a dark Maran egg, so I think he may be a Blue Copper. Here's his brother, Steve, who is a Black Copper.
They r both beautiful! His brother looks like my mutt roo!

When I saw your post earlier I was thinking the same thing! I'm no expert, but is he a BC Maran mix?

He is half Welsummer half Black Australorp. I hatched him last March. And of all the beautiful roos I hatched he was the roo to be pardoned.

Yeah, they look....different. Or maybe it's just a camera angle issue.

Walter's new home fell through. DH called and said when the guy showed up he wanted Steve, too, and would only take both. Ummmm, we're not a Target buddy. People. I'm gonna stick him on CL and see how that works out.

I find when they want more than one rooster and they pressure you for more than one, they want them to grace their tables.

Very true. I guess I would never go somewhere and point out what other chickens I want when I came to buy a specific one. I should have offered him up my not very smart dog

BC I just love your flock! I don't get to spend as much time as I want with the girls for them to get that sweet, but then Roger is special

Tim is taking the long way around on the road to recovery. Surgery went well, but... Currently we are in the Riverside ER waiting for an (ICU?) bed at the U.
He can't do anything easy, he has a gastric bleed somewhere. Love him dearly but would love some fur-time. To say the least, I think I have an over abundance of eggs! I need to get a sign out. Better be home for that!

Those are a couple of good looking boys. Really John Q Public!?!

Love all the pictures! Keep them coming..

Hi! I live in Minnesota too! My mom and dad grew up here then moved to Iowa, where my sister and I were born, we moved back up here a year ago :)
I have 14 chickens- no 13 (one died recently) and 4 two day old chicks! I have a mottled Cochin bantam hen (mother of two of the chicks) and a white Cochin bantam hen, (the broody taking care of the chicks). I ordered some more Cochin bantam chicks from a breeder (blue, splash, and lavender) and am excited :)

Marshmallow (the broody) and the father of the chicks. I didn't have any of marshmallows eggs to hatch, otherwise i would've :(
