Surviving Minnesota!


These are half Seabrite and half Auto EE . Testing a theory on leg color . Trying to see if I can get better slate leg color with 2 barring genes . Seabrite are based on eb brown . Couple more generations before I know for sure . Genetics guys say it will not help . None said I already tried it and it does not work . There is a difference in the 2 statements . In the Polish breed they call the color candy corn . Could not tell on the Polish pictures for sure about leg color .

Thanks . Genetics is really my hobby . Everything I get into I tweak the genetics to get what I really want .
 
Hi! I live in Minnesota too! My mom and dad grew up here then moved to Iowa, where my sister and I were born, we moved back up here a year ago

I have 14 chickens- no 13 (one died recently) and 4 two day old chicks! I have a mottled Cochin bantam hen (mother of two of the chicks) and a white Cochin bantam hen, (the broody taking care of the chicks). I ordered some more Cochin bantam chicks from a breeder (blue, splash, and lavender) and am excited
