@NathanZee , I've noticed my Khaki's have become a bit more timid. They have no issues being handled, but last night I tossed a small amount of hay in their brooder thinking it would help keep them warmer. They'd run up to it, lay down, run away again, run back to it, peck at it, lay down, scoot a bit closer, then run again. It was actually pretty amusing! I just don't recall my Khaki's being such wusses in the past. Did you notice this behavior when you got yours?

Yesterday we hit 75 here . Got really windy again . Like 40 mile per hour wind . 48 predicted for a high today .Some sun again today . Off to buy feed now .

If you don't want to spring for the bells try these

I use those drilled into 5 gallon pails for my broilers and hang them from the tractor in the corners. The birds do really well with them and figured them out in less than an hour.
Any catfish or bullhead would do fine as long as the water doesn't get foo warm. Panfish would probably work too
Have you ever used these poultry drinking cups for your laying hens? My wonderful husband is helping me create the pvc drinking line with these and I am wondering about dehydration?

Good morning. I might get 5 eggs on a good day. LOL. Usually four. So there! I have five laying at this time.

Made a mash of layer food, oatmeal, peas with strawberry greens on top - threw in some sunflower seeds and almonds and Tom looked like he was enjoying that. He does seem lighter when I pick him up and his beak does look pretty good for an amateur doing the deed of fixing. He just does not have a real pointy beak.

I did some outdoor deeds yesterday and everywhere I went I had four birds and three dogs follow me. When I was in the house the birds sat on the back steps and waited for me to come back out. I get such a kick out of that.

The two RIR are in that new Little coop and are very content. I leave the door open and they just stay in there. I bring them food and drinks as they request and they tip me with eggs. Tom is exceptionally attracted to these girls and their backs show his attention. So they are getting feathers again.

Well, back to paper pushing for a while at the desk. I will be following your conversations though. Have a good day.

Great pictures as always, Holm! Your Muscovy drake looks very large.

Thanks! U should hold that lug! Jeez! He is a pig! He weighs more than my geese I think! I clipped his wings the other day (which I didnt have to do) and he was heavy! I might have to weigh him one of these days. Dont worry! The females are tiny compared to the drakes!

Your drake could probably give my Rottweiler a run for his money! Is he a chocolate?

I have only used them for my broilers and I put 2 5-gallon pails in each tractor for 20-15 birds and top them off 2x a day because they drink so much!

I don't see why this couldn't work for layers too as long as there is always water available from them and there are enough cups. I think the supplier said 1 cup per 10 birds??
