I hate spending $$$ on that stupid deductible. When I was raising kids that DH worked at Toro. Great health insurance! I was fortunate enough to appreciate the coverage. Dental included too. My DH NOW is self-employed and our deductible is $6,000. Ugh! Last year we met that deductible because of my eyes - they just happen when you are growing older - and growing older is a goooooood thing most of the time. So you have my sympathies on the health insurance deductibles.
I agree about the shade. They need it during those hot summer days. Having a portion of the run on cement would not be too bad. But if its a big yard why not choose somewhere that they can scratch and have shade. During the winter the coop and run will most likely be covered from the wind so Spring, Summer and Fall it might be good to have a breeze blowing (not a wind) through to cool it down also. What do you think about this chickeners?
I hate Keurig coffee. I dont think it tastes that good. The only coffee I will drink is a caramel Macchiato. And it has to be cold![]()

How hard did they come out?
My dogs "captured" a porcupine at the cabin a few years ago, it was terrible. The stupid one even had them in the roof of her mouth. What a pain to get out. Every time I jerked one out she cried. Worse part is a few days later the stupid one had one up a tree. She was going nuts barking at it. I am sure she just saw it up the tree had it been on the ground I would have been pulling quills again.

Uh - goodmorning Ralphie - uh - I have been thinking about this chicken run I want to build and I could use some help. . . . . LOL. Just remember Ralphie, the energy you put out will come back to you. In this instance that could be beneficial for you. Not that you, or anyone, would help someone to get something back. Truly I mean that. Somewhere when least expecting it - is somehow blesses right back at a person that gives.
Chickeners - you have been teaching me so please correct me if my thinking is off-base. I see a smaller comb and its not pink or red. six weeks is a little young to guess yet. The tail is up - my guess is a hen. What say you?

I finally found those plastic baskets for my Keurig 2.0 where a person can use their own beans. Always fresh. Still get some Keurig cups when they are super cheap but I do feel guilty about throwing them away.
No porcupines around here - that I have seen. We have everything else and you can tell during the breeding seasons' when there is an abundance because there are bodies on the highway.
