Dixie has done a great job. Here is Loretta Lynn, Bogtown's first welsummer.

Ralphie she made a booboo dropping an EE egg and did repairs with blue wax. She was worried one laid there for a while but now... Okay. Not sure if that was it. Hopefully we have a Patsy Cline in there, Kitty Wells and a June Carter.

We have a set of those dice kloppers. We keep them in the RV. We have yet to do a fun game with them yet. Will get it figure out this summer hopefully.

I just did a repair on a boo-boo on creamette egg yesterday. I used fingernail hardener. I am pretty sure it was a waste of time and fingernail hardener.

Anyone here headed to the swap at the Crow Wing County fair grounds Saturday?


I put windows in one of my 1202's yesterday. I can now see into them as I use them for hatchers. They are more like port holes than windows. The amazing thing was when I was putting them in Judy said, it is too bad the door is not glass. When I told her I could get a see through door for them online but they are about 70 bucks. She said " oh, but that's not bad, and it would be fun to see inside them."


So guess who is maybe going to order a couple see through doors.

Holm will say anything to make a sale. Just last winter he was selling Ice to Eskimos an Life Jackets to the people living on the Mountains around Denver. He told the Eskimos with global warming this would be the last Ice they would ever see and the Mountain People the rising Oceans would mean they would have to take a boat to their Mailboxes....

So telling you he only lived a few miles down the road is minor to him.

Good morning all! The sun is finally shining and my girls were running around and clicking happily when I left for work. They were tired of the wet and cold.

I really do not have plans for brooders. I just build a box and it looks like this when nearly done..


The door on the backside is a new addition, I am going to retrofit all of them like this soon.






I make the same thing for everything,,,sort of. I have some old flat top brooders but they inhale strongly.








I make panels like these and screw them together for tractors/pens/covered runs. Right now these are breeding pens.

The panels are all 72 inches long and about 26 inches high. They are easy and fast to move. I find them very versatile. I have started making one that is 22 inches high and using some hardware cloth in the middle and putting a "lid" on each end, for ease of feeding and watering. The lid is what Houdini escaped through the other night. The 22 inch panel fits better on a 6 ft panel for the roof. I have 2-26 inch ones and one 22 inch one. that is still 2 inches over but it works well. I may start cutting that down to 20 inches.

As I said no plans I just build.

i have spent this crappy evening in the woodshop trying out a new project. anybody have a guess?



This is my prototype Lawn Yahtzee game it has become pretty popular as the new 'it' yard game for the summer. This set turned out good not great but i learned what i need to to make up some jigs and hammer out a pile of sets. DW talked me into making them to sell at the farmers market. one 8 foot 4x4 makes up to 5 or 6 sets if there arent too many knots. the biggest trick is to get the beveled edge just right and not chip out on this dry pine. cutting them tonight revealed that my table saw has drifted out of square and needs adjustment.

Thanks! We sell eggs at the farmers market in Owatonna. This year we have been branching out a bit to sell a few Other things as long as we are there. Most recently I have been selling tomato and pepper plants besides our eggs.

I'm trying to keep it low key though as I want eggs to be our main focus of business.
