Todd brought our bees out today. I hate bees

If there were no bees there would be no flowers. There are bees at my gpas farm, if you leave them alone they leave you alone. Unless there is fear radiating off you.

Except that I'm allergic to them! I don't mind flowers apples etc. But they always sting me when I ride through the alfalfa, or when I'm taking hay...

Now about these geese ,,,,,Have you tried composting them? I hear they make adequate compost and the chickens enjoy the maggots.

The pcs are gorgeous Ralphie. I may be paranoid, but Dixie's little Loretta is looking darker and her comb is reaching a bit... Idk still too early yet for a roo yet maybe. I'm anxious to fill that spot but if Loretta is really Conway then I've got an extra roo if I take that PC. Patience patience.

Hens were well grouped today. Thank goodness.

Mother hen Amy was nasty to her orphaned children today, she wouldn't let them go into the coop at bedtime! they kept trying and she would yell and chase them out one got by under her radar and was snuggled up with the broody Cocoa who is sitting on 8 eggs with another week and a half to go... Cocoa seems tired she's 4 so I hope she an make it!!!! Eventually I took Amy out and put her in the part of the coop I use for brooding chicks, which normally is my side to keep supplies. It is cleaned out of everything waiting for Cocoas chicks except for a shelf of stuff. Then finally Amy's chicks went inside and I took the one that was with Cocoa and placed it with the others in a nest box. Now that it is dark enough I'll go get Amy off the shelf and put her on the roost. I never had so much trouble with a mother hen! ggrrrr.

I got my main garden finished and came up to the house and found Edna the SLW that had sour crop had died. I had drained her crop again this morning and gave her an eyedropper of olive oil and she had been slowly wandering the yard. Just too old to handle it I guess.

Hey all - enjoyed all your shenanigans today LOL

I didn't do quotes this time, but a couple inquiries about the kids: Yes, their mom needs sleep, but she is SO nice when well-rested. We have six, oldest will graduate next year, youngest just turned one year old. They are really great, but a lot of work! They are great helpers on the farmette and they keep me laughing as well as hopping! Here is the birthday boy in baby jail with some bunnies we were grazing that day. This photo doesn't do his dimples justice...

Here are my half-grown layer chicks, straight run. Some red Sussex, black shamo, and cuckoo Marans, but I'm not sure they're all in the shot -

I could but its not bad yet, I gets worse everytime though.. A few years ago there was clover everywhere!! The bees were horrible.

I love riding, I grew up literally on my Grandpas ranch, he runs about 300 head of cows. He only uses horses.
I learned to ride on a stubborn Shetland then moved up to a welsh for a few months, then I moved up to a Draft Quarter horse cross. I still have her, she's 22-23 now.
I feel bad though cause I have to ride her in our branding, its our first one here since we didn't own land til a few years ago and we finally bought cows last fall. I would ride Sneaks but she's not strong enough to do that much work yet

Good for you Ralphie! Good Morning! I thought about hoping on around 7:00 and then did not.

Why is there always so much work to do? Does anyone out there have any thoughts about that? Simplify? How do you go about this?
